Dear Clients,

We are pleased to announce that the upgrade has been completed ahead of time and was a success. As such, you can now benefit from the improved Admin User Interface performance as well as our new mail client compatibility and support.

Please note that we now support Apple Mail and Outlook 2016 on MAC using the native Exchange Web Services (EWS) Protocol. As such, should you require the EWS support to be turned on per mailbox, then please log this request with the SYNAQ Support Desk.

Lastly, for peace of mind, we will continue to monitor the platform until the end of the upgrade window (Friday 29th) for any post upgrade issues that may arise.

SYNAQ | Zimbra Platform Upgrade for SYNAQ Cloud Mail

In alignment with SYNAQ’s commitment to delivering and supporting superior email services, we are in the process of upgrading our current Zimbra platform for the SYNAQ Cloud Mail Service to version 8.6. patch 7. The preparation for this project has been extensive and we have completed the necessary vendor, architectural and procedural steps to ensure that this upgrade is as seamless as possible.

The Zimbra platform upgrade has been planned for the 19th – 26th August 2016 and all changes will occur after hours between 00:00am – 06:00am. During this upgrade window, you will be unable to send or receive emails. However, in order to minimise this impact, the entire Client mailbox database has been divided up into smaller Client stores so that your upgrade only occurs during one change window, thus reducing your potential downtime to 6 hours or less.

We believe that this upgrade will prove beneficial and improve the overall SYNAQ Cloud Mail Service experience in the following ways:

- Improved Admin User Interface (UI) Performance: New enhancements will be implemented to ensure faster UI access and search functionality; and
- New Mail Client Compatibility: The upgrade will ensure all of the latest mail clients, including Outlook 2016 and Outlook for Mac 2016, are supported.
